When traveling the road of life, we often put our four wheeled dreams aside for the sake of our loved ones until the time comes that we can turn our fantasies into rolling realities. Sid Lloyd, one of the lucky few, recently turned his fantasy into a reality when he acquired a 2002 Z06 Corvette.
He planned to build a Vette that would maintain an overall stock appearance, while being able to run hard on both the street and track. Having a few builds under his belt, and an eye for quality and attention for detail, Lloyd enlisted American Intense Racing to assist in creating his vision.
The 2002 Z06, came equipped with a healthy LS6 V8, but it just wasn’t enough. Lloyd added a Snow Performance Stage 2 Boost Cooler, along with a rear-mounted 78mm turbo, a 38mm tial waste gate, and a 50mm tail blow-off valve. A three-inch custom exhaust system was fabricated from the manifold to the tail pipes, improving both power to the pavement and exhaust note. A heat exchanger was put in place along with twin seven-inch fans and a Fast fuel rail kit supported by 89-pound injectors. All of the improvements increased horsepower to an impressive 840 with 780 lb/ft at the rear wheels, when running a full 16-pounds of boost.
Inside lies a dual-gauge A-pillar mount containing an AEM gauges for air/fuel ratio and a boost gauge. The Z06 is currently rolling on Mickey Thompson street E/Ts, while the remainder of the exterior has been kept stock, creating a sleeper on both the street and track. This is our latest Corvette, brought to us by our friends at Rate My Ridez.
