Sneak Peek at the Concept Camaros and Corvettes Set to Hit SEMA 2011

If you’ve ever been to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, you know there are always a ton of new and innovative things to feast your eyes on. This year General Motors has something extra special for SEMA-goers. The company will be debuting a full line-up of GM concept models at the event and we have a sneak peak of them for you right here thanks to GM News [2].

While most concept cars could go toe to toe with vehicles you might find in a science fiction movie, that’s not what GM had in mind when creating their fleet. In fact, all of the concepts that GM will be showcasing are upgrades to the already amazing C6 Corvette and fifth-generation Camaro. According to GM News, the concept cars were created to test out new customization ideas and inspire owners of the Chevy muscle cars to create their own custom vehicles.

One of the concepts making its SEMA debut will be the Camaro Red Zone Concept. This Camaro convertible will feature the new-for-2012 color Crystal Claret red exterior paint, a silver heritage stripe, Pedders suspension lowering kit and titanium leather interior with Silver Ice colored accessories and details. Concept pieces on the car will include an “RS” underhood liner and polished strut tower brace. The Camaro will also feature 21-inch silver/polished-face wheels. The idea behind this concept is a dramatic yet simple take on the Camaro model.

Some of you may remember the Synergy Camaros of 2010, defined dramatically by their Synergy Green exterior paint. A limited number of Synergy Edition Camaros were also made in 2011 and the idea is back in the Camaro Synergy Series Concept that will be at SEMA  next week. Some of the best Camaro accessories will be found on this car, including black 21-inch wheels with red details, black leather interior, a Chevrolet Accessories red engine cover, pedal kit and lighting kit, as well as red Brembo brake calipers and a Hurst short-throw shifter. This Camaro will be finished off in a silver exterior with red accents.

[5]Paying homage to the 1LE Camaros of the third and fourth generations will be the Camaro 1LE Concept. This car will be equipped with some serious road-racing components including electric power steering, a sport suspension with Magnetic Ride Control, shock tower brace, light-weight 20-inch wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G asymmetrical tires and Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers. The car will feature a Victory Red exterior with a black hood, hash mark extensions, splitter, spoiler, mirrors and rocker panels, giving the car a aggressive look.

[6]Representing the most powerful production Camaro set to be released in the spring will be the Camaro ZL1 Carbon Concept. This car has all the power and performance of the ZL1 with the added style enhancement of carbon fiber accessories. Pieces like a carbon fiber “Mohawk” hood insert, spoiler and interior inserts are sure to give the Camaro a tough persona. It will also feature the new-for-2012 Ashen Gray exterior color.

For those of you who are more into Corvettes, the Corvette Carlisle Blue Grand Sport Concept and the Z06 Ron Fellows ‘Hall of Fame’ Tribute will also be on display by GM.

[7]The Carlisle concept will be an all-out race Corvette with Magnetic Selective Ride Control, six-piston brake calipers, Goodyear F1 Supercar Gen 2 tires and a Genuine Corvette Accessory Racing Pedal Package. Of course, this Corvette concept will be sporting the Carlisle Blue exterior color that pays tribute to the annual “Corvettes at Carlisle” event.

[8]The Ron Fellows Corvette is a tribute to the amazing Corvette race car driver it is named after. It will feature a Torch Red Exterior, custom graphics, a suede-trimmed ebony interior and a carbon fiber raised hood. This Corvette is built on the Z06 performance package and is especially fitting of its hall of fame ties.

These muscle car concepts all sound amazing and we can’t wait to see them at SEMA next week. What do you think would make a great Camaro or Corvette model concept?
