Who In Their Right Mind Would Vandalize A C7 With Paint Stripper?

Via our friends over at CorvetteBlogger [3], we have learned that some very unfortunate damage has been done to Renee Hughes’ black C7 Corvette. We were saddened to see the photos of the damage and how the paint stripper started eating away at the entire car – it just goes to show that no matter how hard you work and how many nice possessions you have, someone is going to ruin it.

[4]The vandalization incident happened between midnight and 4 a.m. on August 1st at The Abbey at the Riverchase Apartments in Hoover, AL. CorvetteBlogger stated that Hughes thought it was initially acid that was poured on her C7, but a user on the StingrayForums [2] told her that it was paint stripper gel.

The suspect(s) in this act of vandalism must’ve been really pissed off at her or just found a really nice car at random, because they hit every part of the car possible. The gel stripped the paint on both doors, the carbon fiber hood, rear deck lid, front fenders, and rear quarter panels. The paint stripper gel actually ran off of the deck lid onto the taillights, melting part of the taillights – now, that’s ruthless.

[5]Hughes does have a $3,050 reward for any information that will lead to the arrest of the suspected vandal(s). Hughes stated that her car will be in the shop for about a month as they will attempt to fix the damage. This is never a good thing to see, especially when you walk out of your apartment on a Friday morning. If there is any information that can lead police to the vandal(s), please call (205) 822-5300.
