Red Corvette C7 Deep-Sixed by Snow

wrecked-vette-1 [1]In case you haven’t heard, much of the country is facing some seriously snowy weather this week, and some people haven’t seen much of anything except snow since before Christmas. This is bad driving for rear-wheel drive cars, especially those with a focus on summer traction instead of slippery winter conditions. The 2014 Corvette Stingray [2] is great at a lot of things, but winter driving apparently isn’t one of them.

wrecked-vette-2 [3]While residents of Minnesota are used to the cold weather and slippery roads, one Corvette owner either didn’t get the memo, or didn’t care. Crashed exotic car website Wrecked Exotics [4] has these photos, and precious little information, on a crashed Torch Red 2014 Corvette. Oh, the stupidity of it all!

Generally we try to avoid jumping to conclusions when it comes to accidents like this, especially given the fact that we have almost no information other than the fact that this wrecked ‘Vette turned up in a Milwaukee dealership. But from the way the snow is smushed into just about every orifice on the front of this new ‘Vette, it makes for a pretty clear-cut case of Corvette-meets-snowbank.

Guess who won?

There’s snow under the hood, where the passenger’s side headlight used to hang, and all up under what remains of the radiator and front splitter. This Corvette wasn’t just driving in snowy conditions, but it was going at a good clip to boot. Even worse for the owner though, the damage almost certainly isn’t enough to total the car, meaning their brand-new baby just lost a whole lot of resale value. Guess that means it’s time for a Callaway supercharger kit…
