Callaway has always been synonymous with Corvette performance and exclusivity. With just 500 cars assembled with the Callaway nametag between 1987 and 1991, Callaway C4 Corvettes are hard to find. But as we found out from CorvetteBlogger, one has actually turned up for sale in Arizona recently. This 1991 model is among the rarest of rare, with only 10 such Speedster-bodied Callaways built. Not surprisingly, the Corvette comes with a pretty hefty price tag, but we guess that’s the price you pay for rarity.
In true Callaway fashion, this ‘91 #007 Speedster is one of a kind, being specially styled for the owner at the time. This explains why the car is complete with a Pink Clay Connolly leather interior and red Wilton wool carpet, as well as being finished off in Purple Haze paint.
It may be a little bit wild, but we think we could overlook the odd color combinations for the pure power of the Callaway engine
While the styling might be a bit wild, so too is the Callaway twin turbo L98 engine under the hood. Capable of cranking out 450 HP and a whopping 575 foot-pounds of torque, this potent powerhouse takes the car up a few notches in appeal. Backed by a six-speed manual transmission, there is no doubt that this Corvette would be a blast to drive.
With just 1,400 miles on it since it was new, the Callaway Corvette is being sold for $160,000. Some may say that this is a bit steep, but other Callaway Speedster Corvettes have sold for similar prices with more miles on them.
