For all of us who have been following the upcoming ‘Vette, the recent news has been somewhat refreshing– less and less speculation and more facts. Finally, we’ve clearly seen it, we’ve heard it and, now, we just have to sit back and wait for the details to surface.
We thought we hit the jackpot when we found the two videos of the ZR1 running around the ‘ring from Stateside Supercars the other day. One of the two clips released had some pretty spot on audio, with a clear supercharger whine coming from under the new bulging hood. Supercharged LT4? LT5? Who knows.
But now, yet another video of the elusive sports car has found its way to the glorious thing that is the internet. Lets start off by saying whatever is under the hood, sounds incredible. Again, we can clearly hear the supercharger, but this time it sounds like the test car is sporting an automatic transmission. 10-speed, anyone?
And– good news; it seems we are finally able to officially call the upcoming Corvette “the ZR1.” In all these videos and spy shots, the cars are sitting on the same exact star-patterned five-spoke wheels, in which one super investigative fan recently spotted a tiny ZR1 logo, covered in brake dust. Talk about getting down to details.
The C7 ZR1 has been rocking these shoes since it was very first spotted, along with its bright blue calipers. So for all of you holding onto your other theories, its now time to let them go… Unless GM is faking us out. We sure hope not.
Keep checking back for more details on the now official C7 Corvette ZR1.
