Corvettes at Carlisle is the biggest all-Corvette event in the country, with a show, parade, competitions, shopping, and much, much more. If you’re a Corvette owner or enthusiast and you’ve never attended this massive event, you have to check it out this summer. Lucky for you, you can start your planning early because registration for the event is already open. And as we found out from CorvetteBlogger, registering this early in the season has some pretty cool benefits.
The Corvettes at Carlisle show features more than 4,000 Corvettes in one location for a weekend filled with fun activities, friendly competition and comradery among owners and fans of America’s favorite sports car. This year the event will take place at the fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania August 24th through the 26th.

Just like in years past, there will be plenty to do at this year’s event. The Corvette Fun Field will once again be the center of the weekend’s festivities with parking for all generations of the model. This field will be surrounded by a specialty swap meet, Corvette-only car sale corral, special C2 Sting Ray fan display and Manufacturers’ Midway. There will also the Installation Alley at the event, where you can get brand new bolt-on components installed on you Corvette by some of the most prominent companies in the industry while you enjoy the rest of the show, and special diagnosis seminars.
This year, Allvette.net will be back again giving away a special Corvette that has yet to be revealed on Sunday August 26th.
New this year will be a special showcase of 1962 model year Corvettes for their 50th anniversary, a separate club tent for area Corvette clubs to display and network, and a special 25th Anniversary of the Callaway Corvette display. You can also expect to see a unique display from the National Corvette Restorers’ Society, kids’ activity area, Women’s Oasis and the Chip Miller Charitable Foundation Benefit Auction at the 2012 festivities. Make sure to bring your driving shoes this year because Corvettes at Carlisle will once again have autocross racing, a burnout competition and Team Chevy Test Drives where you can drive a variety of brand new GM vehicles.

Awards will be given away at the 2012 event for Celebrity Picks, Chip’s Choice, largest club and National Council of Corvette Clubs Concours Judged Showfield standouts, as well as the top contenders of the Miss Corvettes at Carlisle competition. Along with the 2012 Celebrity Picks Parade, Celebrity Picks from 2011 will get a special parade this year to make up for the trouble with Hurricane Irene last year.
Obviously there is a ton to do at the Corvettes at Carlisle event and you wouldn’t want to miss a minute of it. So if you register your car before July 23rd, you’ll get to by-pass the line to get into the event and drive right in to start enjoying your weekend. You’ll also save $10 on registration by getting signed up early. Oh, and if you own a 2012 Carlisle Blue Corvette, you can actually get in free to this year’s event!
