[Possibly] The First C7 To Get Involved In A Public Accident

[1]

It was bound to happen, sooner or later. Nothing in this world is destruction proof, and the 2014 Corvette is no exception. In what could very well be the first C7 to be involved in a public automobile accident, we caught a glimpse of this wrecked Stingray thanks to the help of our friends over at CorvetteBlogger.com [2].

[3]

Is this the same car? It's blue, it was in Arizona testing with a group of other C7s - what are the odds of it being a different car?

This reportedly happened a week ago somewhere in the mountains of Arizona, although it’s yet to be confirmed. Apparently it was a one car accident, and there’s no information at this time on the driver’s condition. Despite the one-car accident, eyewitnesses said the Vette was in a group of other C7’s.

It could be quite possible that the Vette in question is the very same car that GM Test Driver, Jim Mero, was driving a couple of weeks ago [4]. If you think about it, what are the odds?

Evidently, we’re the third source of this information, as it had originated from a post on the Digital Corvette [5] blogger, “gpetry.” According to gpetry,

“Driving through some mountains in Arizona about 30 minutes ago. In some tight switchbacks when we passed this ’14 Vette. Cop had just arrived. Car is in worse shape than looks. Hit guardrail on left and bounced back to rocks.

Somebody had a bad day…

Clearly. Based on all of the reports coming in, the car is in worse condition than it looks. A pre-production pilot car is replaceable, and we just hope that whoever was driving the Vette is OK. We’ll bring you more updates as we learn them.
