Page from 2014 C7 Corvette Service Manual Leaked

As the buildup to the 1/13/13 unveiling of the next-generation Corvette continues, it’s becoming harder and harder for GM to keep a tight lid on all the possible sources of information. There are literally thousands of people, both inside and out of Chevrolet, who at least have some piece of the puzzle – we saw this earlier this year when tooling supplier Omega inadvertently released a video showing the molds for the C7’s front and rear bumper. Non-disclosure agreements and the threat of job loss can only go so far, because part of the sweetness of knowing a secret is being able to share it.

In today’s case, automotive spy photographer Chris Doane got an interesting tidbit slipped over the virtual transom; a contact sent him this single screen shot of the GM service manual for the 2014 Corvette, showing a page detailing the installation process for a front brake cooling deflector kit. While that doesn’t sound all that thrilling in the big scheme of things, we get a clear look at the styling of the new Corvette from the A-pillar forward, and a bit of insight into the front brakes and suspension setup.

So what can we tell about the car from this glimpse? We already knew that the C7 would carry over a transverse leaf suspension in back, and now it appears the front will as well; the car also apparently utilizes vented and slotted two-piece front rotors, which also comes as no surprise. What else can be gleaned from this single screen shot? If you have any flashes of insight, let us know in the comments below.

Oh, you also probably want to save a copy of this image on your hard drive, since we are betting GM will probably make everyone (including us) take it down in short order…
