This 454ci block from a 1974 Corvette is a restorer’s dream.

Rust shouldn’t be an issue for the buyer of this block. Bead blasting or tumble cleaning should be all that’s needed to clean it right up.

The block has been bored .100 over stock, and you can tell by the pictures that it sat for a while. However, you can also tell by the pictures that it’s in great shape. Bead blasting or tumbling should remove the light surface rust that can be seen in the pictures.

This is the strength patch that was added to prep the engine for use in racing.

The only “oddity” on it is a small patch that’s been welded to the rear of the block. The owner says that this patch is known as a reinforcement plate and was used to strengthen the block for racing applications. The patch does not detract from the authenticity of the block or how it works. The asking price for this rare find is $300.
