Nicolas Cage’s 1992 Corvette Surfaces in Buffalo
Even as Drive Angry 3D continues to be hashed to death across the Internet, it only serves to build the undeniable connection between Nicolas Cage and fast cars. Listing the car movies that Cage has starred in would be a daunting task, but if you’re a fan – you already know all of them.
As well, if you’re a fan, you’re going to want to check out this story. It all began back in 1992 when Cage dropped about sixty large for a brand new 1992 ZR-1 Corvette. The purple on gray leather, 6-speed ZR-1 has a 375 hp motor under the hood. Cage drove the car until trading it in early 1993, with all of 2,153 miles on the odometer.
From there, the car seems to have led a rather ignominious life, eventually ending up at a dealer auction in Florida by way of Vermont and New Hampshire. With only 44,000 miles, the car appears in good shape and is said to have a clean background report. Now resident at River Front Auto Sales in Buffalo, New York, the Corvette is currently listed on Autotrader.com for $47,980 including the original window sticker, photos of Cage with the car and a binder full of additional documentation.
If the car doesn’t sell via online means, River Front’s owner, Marty Pecorraro, says he’s thinking of sending it to Barrett-Jackson to be auctioned. Had the car been owned by you or me, it would currently be valued around $13K. That’s the difference a big name makes.
