Lingenfelter Releases Programmable Clutch And Throttle Switch

LPE CTAP-001_#L460190108Drive-by-wire throttle control is great, if you’re not racing in any way, shape or form. But if you are, it presents challenges that were not an issue with old-school mechanical throttle control. Namely, the ability to activate nitrous systems and two-step controls for drag racing, along with any other device that requires throttle position to be activated. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has the solution–check it out!

Official Release:

The Lingenfelter Performance Engineering CTAP-001 Clutch and Throttle Position Activation Switch is designed to tap into the sensor signal from a clutch pedal position (CPP) sensor, throttle position sensor (TPS), accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor or other similar automotive sensors and provide user adjustable switched outputs.

The CTAP-001 Clutch and Throttle Position Activation Switch allows external devices looking for a +12 volt or ground activation signal – such as a nitrous controller, 2-step or other device – to be used on newer vehicles that are equipped with clutch pedal position (CPP) sensors or electronic throttle (ETC) without having to add additional micro-switches to the vehicle. Outputs include normally OFF ground activation, normally ON ground activation and normally OFF +12 volt DC activation.

An optional plug-and-play harness (part #L480370108) is available for use with the CTAP-001 Clutch and Throttle Position Activation Switch that makes the product even easier to install on the clutch pedal position sensor of these vehicles:
* 2010-2014 Camaro
* 2008-2013 C6 Corvette
* 2014 C7 Corvette
* 2009-2014 CTS-V
* Many other late model vehicles

Another optional plug-and-play harness (part #CE105454) is available to make it easier to connect the CTAP-001 to the electronic throttle on GM Gen IV V8 (LS2, LS3, LS7, LSA, LS9 and other similar engines) equipped vehicles.

The Lingenfelter CTAP-001 Clutch and Throttle Position Activation Switch does not require a separate micro-switch be installed in the vehicle and can be adjusted to activate or deactivate anywhere in the clutch or throttle travel. The module works with rising or falling voltage signals and has adjustable activation points in 1 percent increments. The module is compatible with most electronic throttle equipped vehicles. Specifications include a high-temperature, glass-filled nylon enclosure and fully potted circuitry for added durability and vibration resistance. The module is not required for use with the Lingenfelter NCC-002 Nitrous Control Center as it has the same capabilities as the CTAP-001 already built in.

Features:

  • Plug and play on many vehicles
  • Allows for easy installation of external devices
  • Can be adjusted to activate at any point in throttle pedal travel
