IMIS 2010: Edelbrock’s New Victor Pro Series SBC, LS Water Pumps

[1]
Here at IMIS, the folks at Edelbrock [2]have unveiled several new products, including some new racing cylinder heads and intake manifolds. But one of their hottest and most interesting products on display are their new Victor Pro Series Water Pumps, with two different models designed for use with the Small Block Chevy and the other with the LS family of performance engines.

These water pumps are designed for high output racing engines, such as dirt late model and other circle track applications. These are of a rather simplistic design and are much smaller than the big and bulky factory water pumps from GM. They feature a two-piece cartridge style design that improves performance and makes servicing at the track a much easier task. By simply unbolting the center hub, you can quickly take the pump apart for maintenance and have it back together in a snap.

Made from an A356 casting, this design features improved symmetrical flow paths resulting in increased flow and requiring less horsepower from the engine. The 3.45″ impeller provides the utmost in cooling ability with equal distribution, making it a highly efficient piece. The modern vane design increases coolant flow over the impeller design seen in many pumps, and the precision machined casting provides higher flow volume and greater cooling efficiency than water pumps non the market.

The Victor Pro for the Small Block Chevrolets fits all 1955-95 SBC engines and measures 5-13/16″, while the Victor Pro for GM/LS Series will fit all LS engines and requires the use of aftermarket competition brackets.
