New Corvette Cup Wheels and Michelin Cup Tires Spotted at NCM

We’ve all heard that good things come to those who wait, and I’m sure many of us have scoffed at the idea, especially when waiting for something really amazing. However, as Keith Cornett of CorvetteBlogger.com pointed out in a post last week, sometimes this phrase proves to be true. For some Corvette enthusiasts, this moment came 15 minutes after closing in the parking lot of the National Corvette Museum. For those who waited around, they were treated to seeing three 2012 Z06’s with new aluminum cup wheels. One was even sporting the brand new Pilot Sport Cup tires from Michelin.

The new lightweight aluminum cup wheels come in different finishes, including Machined Face and black, as seen on the three Z06’s.You may be thinking that you’ve seen these wheels on another Corvette in the past. Your thoughts are correct. In fact, they were debuted at the 2010 SEMA show on the 2011 Corvette Z06X Track Concept car.

The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires give Corvette owners increased traction from the street to the track. These tires are a welcome addition to the number of street-legal cup racing tires that are available from a few other manufacturers for the Corvette.

It can’t get much better than style paired with increased performance, something that these wheels and tires represent. We look forward to seeing them on the road and at the track-proving their stylish performance possibilities.
