[1]The start of 2013 is almost here. Well, at least when it comes to the 2013 model year, and with that comes the release of the 427 Convertible, a Corvette we’re excited to see hit the road. Although pricing has been estimated to be in the Z06 range for the seventh Corvette model since its debut, nothing was confirmed until the National Corvette Museum (NCM) Bash held last week. As we found out from CorvetteBlogger [2], customers looking to get into a new 427 can expect to pay upwards of $76,000 for the new model, come this summer.
In a presentation at the NCM Bash, Team Corvette member Harlan Charles stated that a starting price of $75,925 has been approved for the 427 Convertible. If you’re looking for all the bells and whistles of the 60th Anniversary 427 Convertible shown to the public back in January [3], however, you’re going to have to come up with a bit over $90k.
The starting price of the 427 comes as no surprise to many, falling right in line with the $75,600 base price tag of the 2012 Z06. It is, however, fairly hefty compared to the $3,513 original price of the 1953 Corvettes, but we are talking 60 years here and the most potent factory Corvette convertible ever offered.
The other insight that was revealed at the NCM Bash is that production of the 2013 model starts this week, with cars being shipped out in June. Guess you better start saving your pennies now!
