NCM to Host “Zpeedfest”: Racing Event For All GM Speed Junkies

[1]

ZpeedFest [2] is the newest racing event put on by the National Corvette Museum to engage GM racing enthusiasts, whether they drive a 1963 split window or a 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS. In case you’re wondering (and we’re sure you are) the name of the event is derived from taking the “Z” from “Z06” and cleverly interchanging it with the “S” in “Speed”, because the event was originally for Z06’s only. So there you have it. Just don’t try to pronounce it, or it sounds like something vaguely dirty and German…

Zpeedfest [2] will be held at Beech Bend Dragway, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the weekend of May 31st through June 2nd, 2012. Things will kick off Thursday, with a full day of seminars and “how to” demonstrations from tuners and other GM experts. On the racing side of things, the event will include a full slate of drag racing classes, a MPH quarter mile challenge, an autocross, and even a dyno shootout to see who can put the most power to the tires.

Check out the National Corvette Museum’s webpage [2] for more details on the event and how you can pre-register for Zpeedfest.
