Mantic Releases 9000 Series Twin And Triple Disc Clutch For C6 ZR-1

m921222If you’re in the market for a new clutch for your 2009 through 2013 C6 ZR-1 Corvette, you need to check out Mantic Clutch’s 9000 series clutches. Mantic’s US marketed clutch assemblies are very similar to its line of Australian LS products, which is why you’ll find a nice variety of drivability-driven choices. These clutches designed for both street and track applications, and allow owners to choose from 4 different varieties of their twin disc assemblies, and 3 options for its triple disc version. Of course one of the biggest selling points of this particular clutch assembly would have to be that many of Mantic’s customers who own C6 Corvettes are running over 1,000 lb-ft of torque to the wheels using this triple disc assembly. If you’re considering purchasing one yourself, know that the differences in the twin disc and triple disc assemblies are extremely drastic: with the triple having 50 percent more torque capacity than the twin.

F9010Another bit of information you’ll want to know is that Mantic now offers a 9-bolt flywheel for the ZR-l, as well as an 8 bolt for the LSX crate engines, which of course allows for a smoother transition if you’re performing an LS swap.

According to Mantic’s description from their website, the kit includes having a sprung-centre cushioned ceremetalic set of discs, which offer a level of performance above organic discs which in-turn requires very little compromise in driving style and vehicle usage.

The twin disc 9-inch (225mm) diameter modular clutches have a lower MOI (Moment of Inertia) as well, allowing the kit to have a 1,010 lb-ft (1365Nm) of torque capacity. In short, the idea behind the 9000 series is to have great street drivability while incorporating the use of sprung-hub cerametallic discs, as they’re well suited for high performance engines and enthusiastic driving while retaining factory-like drivability when needed. And of course, low pedal effort is always a great bonus.
