Man Flips A ’68 Corvette While Driving Under the Influence

Drinking and driving can have deadly consequences; luckily for a Bellevue, Washington man he was not killed after crashing his ’68 Corvette while under suspicion of driving under the influence. According to the Bellevue Patch, other motorists saw the man driving at excessive speeds before he crashed into a wall on Interstate 90 near West Lake Sammamish. Washington State Patrol stated the accident occurred around 5:30pm on Sunday. After receiving emergency calls, the Washington State Patrol arrived on the scene to find the Corvette overturned with the driver halfway in and out of the wreckage.

Authorities immediately transported the 52-year-old man to Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue due to serous injuries sustained in the accident. Following medical treatment, a Washington State Patrol press release reported the driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. After viewing the images of the aftermath of the crash it seems unlikely that the driver could survive the devastating accident – unfortunately the same could not be said for the Corvette. Fortunately no other motorists were injured in the accident and it seems like the driver will recover from his injuries. Driving under the influence has serious consequences like jail time, fines, injuries to yourself and others; hopefully this driver will realize how lucky he was and will learn from his mistake.
