Lucas Oil Center Offers Free Car Washes to Vets on Veterans Day

[1]

If you are one of the brave men or women currently serving our country or who have served our country in the past, we as a nation owe you more than we can ever truly repay. With that being said, we’d like to show you at least one more way that many in both our great nation and around the world are saying thanks to those who served.

[2]This weekend Lucas Oil Center [3] in Evansville, IN, through the Grace for Vets [4] program will be offering free car washes to all active duty military personnel and veterans. Free washes for vets and active duty military will be given on Veteran’s Day, Sunday November 11 from 9am-5pm and Monday November 12, from 7am-6pm. The washes will be given regardless of weather conditions. If you served in the Military, you can get your car washed for free, no I.D required, this is based on the honor system, something military members past and present are familiar with.

If you don’t live in Evansville, IN you can visit the Grace For Vets website [4] and find a car wash near you. There are participants for this event in all fifty states and in three other countries, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. “We’re so pleased that the program has expanded internationally; it allows so many more military service people to be honored,” said Bob and Brenda Floyd, the owners of Lucas Oil Center.

[5]The Grace for Vets car wash program was founded by  Mike Mountz who owns Cloister Car Wash in 2004. The program started with that single car wash and has since spread to include 638 companies with a total of  1,446 car wash locations in 2011. Last year the program washed 119,317 vehicles for Military and Veterans on November 11, that’s an astounding number of cars. This year there are currently 1,914 car wash locations signed up, once again covering all fifty United States and three additional countries.

At the Lucas oil center location there will also be a special display of Military vehicles in front of the center in honor of our nation’s heroes.  Lucas Oil Center is located at 2560 N. Green River Rd in Evansville, IN. They can also be found online at www.lucasoilcenter.com. “We’re proud to be part of an industry that continually supports our Military,” said the Floyds.

We’ve also included a video here of Mike Mountz talking about this program a few years ago. A former military man himself you can tell from Mountz’s remarks that doing something for his fellow veterans as well as for those currently serving is an important subject to him.

To all our Veterans and those currently serving in the armed forces, we at Rod Authority and Power Automedia offer our heartfelt thanks for your brave service and sacrifice.
