Lingenfelter’s LS9 2010 Camaro Steps Up And Runs 9.97 In Latest Testing

[1]

After word rapidly spread online throughout just about every muscle car or drag racing website when Lingenfelter ran a new personal best 10.23. To some, it was pretty impressive and to others, it seemed a little lacking for the engine package this car is packing. As an active participant in the online racing community, Lingenfelter quickly took notice to the skeptics of the car’s potential, and brought this 2010 SS back out to the track to show us that there’s a bunch more left in this car.

All of Lingenfelter’s previous runs with the car can be found on their video page [2], but checkout the car’s most recent track appearance in Lingenfelter’s video below:

Grabbing gears in the TR6060 manual transmission hard out of the gate, Lingenfelter’s first amped up run was right on into the 9’s with a 9.993 at 140 MPH. We had a feeling it would get there in due time, but on the first pass off the trailer, no one could have predicted things to go that well. 9 Second pass in the books? Check. Consistency? The next two passes were nearly identically clean as the first, running a 9.97 at 142 followed up with a 9.97 at 141.6. Consistency is no worry here, even with a rather difficult 6 speed transmission on board.

Alas, the 1/4 mile times are nearing closer to where they should be with an 855 horsepower supercharged LS9 on board. How much more E/T will Lingenfelter be able to successfully squeeze out of this fifth gen, before amping up their modifications list? It’s too soon to tell, but with a track record like what Lingenfelter has, we’re sure they wont disappoint. This LS9 Camaro’s story just gets better and better with every new page, and we just can’t wait to hear that boosted monster rumbling through the custom Corsa [3] exhaust system again soon.
