Lingenfelter Collection Opening Its Doors For Special Events in 2014

Have you ever wanted to see the famed Lingenfelter Collection [1] in its entirety but never had the opportunity? It’s tough to get a tour, as the Collection isn’t normally open to the public, but this season, Lingenfelter has at least two great opportunities for you to come check out the cars and support local charities. Check out what you can expect from the collection in the video [2] above.

As the son of a GM executive, Ken Lingenfelter has been around amazing cars all his life. So when he started his car collection, it was no surprise that a number of iconic GM cars were immediately purchased in addition to Lingenfelter’s first collector car, a 1969 Jaguar XKE. Years later, the collection has grown to include over 200 vehicles from all over the world, including a number of Corvettes and classic muscle cars, to Lamborghinis, Ferraris and even a Bugatti Veyron. It is safe to say that a number of the vehicles in the Lingenfelter Collection are among the world’s finest and rarest cars ever produced.

Making up nearly 40 percent of the Collection are Corvettes, ranging from a super rare 1953 supercharged model and the 1955 Duntov test mule, to the first Corvette added to the collection, a 1977 coupe, and even a Lingenfelter-prepped 2010 ZR1. Chances are if you have a favorite rare Corvette, you’ll find it in the Lingenfelter Collection.

[4]Next week, the Lingenfelter Collection will host its first charity event on our list, the 2014 Collection Open House, which benefits the Gleaners Community Food Bank, which provides food to a large population in southeastern Michigan, and the Bottomless Toy Chest, an organization that takes crafts, interactive games and art projects to pediatric cancer patients in area hospitals. The event will take place on Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m. to  5p.m. at Lingenfelter Motorsports, located at 819 Lochlin Drive in Brighton, Michigan.

[5]Even if you’ve been lucky enough to see the Lingenfelter Collection before, this event will present a unique opportunity to check out Lingenfelter’s latest additions to his array of vehicles, including a 1989 Ferrari GTS, fully restored 1964 Nova II American Collector Car magazine car, and a 1971 rare-optioned LT1 Corvette. Five Lingenfelter Corvettes that just came back from the National Corvette Museum’s 60th Anniversary display will also be on site during the open house.

The other event on our list is set to take place at the Collection on Thursday, August 7th, which benefits the Ronald McDonald House. With an event calendar [6] wide open, there may be other opportunities to visit the collection between the April and August events as well.

If you’ve ever wanted to see the exclusive Lingenfelter Collection for yourself, this is your opportunity to live a dream and make a difference in the community at the same time!
