[3]If you can’t get enough coverage of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, which runs this weekend, 2011 may be the best year yet. SPEED has announced that they will carry 17 hours of live coverage on television Saturday and Sunday.

For those hours when SPEED is otherwise involved, viewers can go to www.speedtv.com/corvette [4], for special live streaming content from inside one of the two Corvette Racing entries. In a special partnership with Corvette Racing, streaming video feed will be available from the cockpit of the #73 Compuware Corvette C6.R piloted by Olivier Beretta, Tommy Milner and Antonio Garcia.

“The 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the most prestigious and demanding events in all of racing,” said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet U.S. vice president for performance and motorsports. “We jumped at the opportunity to work with SPEED to provide fans expanded coverage from Le Mans, with an inside view of how Corvette will battle its peers, the world’s best sports cars.”

The 24 Hours of Le Mans begins at 3 p.m. local time (9 a.m. EST) Saturday. The live web stream of the race on SPEEDTV will air race coverage without commercial interruption for hours of the race not carried on television. The only way to get more action would be to be at the track.
