Jets & Vettes Event Revisited Through Participant Photos

Finding Corvette events to attend is not hard, with the car being one of America’s favorites. Some of these events are more notable than others, however, and are different enough from the typical cars-on-the-grass-in-the-park car show to warrant a second look. Recently, The Brigade [2], a website dedicated to everything military, took notice of a Corvette event that took place on a decommissioned aircraft carrier in 2009.

The event was called Jets & Vettes and was held on the USS Lexington [3], a World War II vintage flattop turned training aircraft carrier turned museum ship in Corpus Christi, Texas. It was at this event that Corvette owners gathered and parked on the carrier among military planes. The event was a benefit for the Wounded Warrior Project [4].

[5]On The Brigade, many pictures of the event have been posted up showing just how popular the event was. They are also asking for participants of the event to post up any pictures they have that haven’t already been added.

We must say, there is definitely something very cool and appealing about parking your car among planes on an aircraft carrier while being able to talk to fellow Corvette enthusiasts. We’re glad that the event made such an impact on the participants. What a great opportunity for Corvette enthusiasts to have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to park on an aircraft carrier while giving back to an organization dedicated to American soldiers.
