It’s What’s Inside (a Corvette) That Counts

displays of cars are a perennial auto show favorite. All the manufacturers do it and the reaction by attendees is universally positive. This one, prepared by Corvette Central is a little different from the usual trade show fare, though.

Designed to showcase both OEM and aftermarket components, this cutaway is drivable and that, no doubt, is going to draw a lot of stares at the local A&W drive-in. The red 1988 Corvette Has had many portions of its body panels cut back to reveal what is sitting behind the fiberglass.

Developed in conjunction with Petris Enterprises, Inc. (formerly Corvette Clinic, Inc. of Sanford, FL), Corvette Central will use the tuned port injection 5.7 liter V8, 4-speed automatic-equipped car will be used for seminar and presentation support.

Corvette Central was founded in 1974 by Jerry Kohn, a Corvette enthusiast from Michigan, who began by making reproduction grille teeth for 1953-1960 Corvettes. Today, the western Michigan company employs 80 and supplies approximately 45,000 components for the six generations of Corvettes. Among these is a reproduction 1957 Corvette body shell that is available for just under $15,000.
