Is This The Back End Of The C7 Corvette?

[1]There is no shortage of speculative renderings out there of the seventh-generation 2014 Corvette, i.e. the C7. Yet the renderings produced lately definitely seemed to be focusing in on certain attributes that have been all but confirmed by a number of high-and-low profile leaks. These days, it seems like the leaks are turning into a flood.

Hot on the release of a number of CAD renderings that show, among other things, a Stingray emblem [2], a post on the Corvette Forums [3] has allegedly released renderings of the C7’s Camaro-like booty.

There is no denying the Camaro’s influence on the next Camaro; specifically, these taillights remind us of the Europeanized LED taillights GM introduced on the Camaro earlier this year [4]. However, these taillights appear to have some depth to them. We like what we see.

Also worth noting is the ducktail-like spoiler and rear diffuser setup that looks a lot more supercar-ish. The roofline swoops right into the spoiler, and there is no denying that that’s the Corvette logo in the middle of the back end. We’re also told that the rear vents will be limited to the Z06 variant, and won’t appear on “base model” C7’s.

Of course, we have no way of confirming if these are real leaks, or just a clever trick played on salivating fanboys. While we have no reason to doubt their authenticity, we have no way to confirm it either. But if these renderings are for real, well, we can’t imagine the bigwigs at Corvette are too happy about it.
