Goodguys Offering Free Admission to Military at Autumn Get Together

[1]

Veterans day is this Sunday, November, 11 – a day to remember and honor those who have served our country whether they have passed on or are still serving today. Goodguys [2] will be honoring both veterans and active duty members of the military during their 23rd Annual Autumn Get Together [3] this coming weekend in Pleasonton, CA.

[4]On Veterans day, (Sunday) all active duty and retired military personnel will be admitted for free to the event with proper ID. A special ceremony will be held at noon featuring the US Color Guard posting the colors at the event’s main stage. There will be other special Veterans day festivities going on throughout the day. “All of us at Goodguys salute our military servicemen and women,” said Goodguys president Marc Meadors.

Meadors and the staff at Goodguys [5] have a special connection to the armed services telling us, “We’re honored to host our freedom fighters for the day at the 23rd Autumn Get-Together. My father Gary Meadors served our country and many of our members here and abroad are active military. We sincerely appreciate the sacrifices they make every day for our freedoms.”

Over 2,500 hot rods, customs, street machines, muscle cars, and trucks of nearly every year and domestic make or model, will be on the grounds for the show. The event will also feature vendor exhibits, a huge swap meet, car corral, and more. If watching cars perform is more to your taste then the Goodguys autocross will probably peak your interest. There will also be a special indoor truck display, as well as a military vehicle display. Goodguys also offers a kids area with face painting, a magician, a clown, and valve cover racing.

The autocross, swap meet, and vendors area will offer plenty of entertainment away from the general car show as well.

The event is being held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds and goes on both Saturday and Sunday. Registration opens at 7am on both days, and closes at 5pm on Saturday and 1PM on Sunday. Event hours are 8-5 on Saturday and 8-4 on Sunday. General admission tickets are $17 for adults, kids 7-12 $6 and under 6 are free.

If you or someone in your family has served our country in the armed forces, and are into cars, we can’t think of a better way to spend the day. If you are one of those brave few who served, on behalf of Rod Authority and the Power Automedia staff we’d also like to say thank you for your service.
