Each year for the last several decades, Goodguys has held a Get Together at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, California. What started as a one-day show with slightly more than 650 cars has evolved in an extravaganza. This year, the 36th All-American Get-Together will again be held in Pleasanton, on March 23, 24, and 25.
The Get-Together hosts all years of domestic automobiles, and even some import automobiles sporting domestic powertrains. This is one of the few events where the post-muscle car era and modern cars can attend a show of this stature. The Goodguys Rod and Custom Association is expecting more than 3,000 American made or powered hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, and trucks of all years.
Always a highlight, the Goodguys AutoCross will be active, and is an opportunity for registered participants to put their street rod, truck, or street machine through the paces to test their driving skills and see how their car handles in a performance situation. The Goodguys AutoCross course is situated inside the event venue and will have plenty of turns and curves to test even the best tuned suspension and driver skills.
All participants will have their laps timed, and at the end of the event, one winner from each of the street rod, truck and street machine classes will take home an award, and gift certificates from various sponsors. The prizes will be presented during the Sunday awards show. Seat belts and a valid driver’s license are required, and you must be 18 years or older to drive the course. Just bring your registered/street legal vehicle to the AutoCross tech area at the event to get inspected and you are ready to run.
