Gallery: Top 10 Corvette Results from Bloomington Gold

Held this past weekend in St. Charles, Illinois, the auction portion of the Bloomington Gold event saw total sales of $5.8 million. The auction is part of a larger Corvette-only event which includes a car show, seminars, cruises and more.

The top selling car of the weekend was an ultra rare 1971 Corvette ZR2 Convertible. It is one of just two ZR2 convertibles produced, in addition to ten hardtops. Intended for all out performance, the ZR2 LS6 aluminum-head 454 was rated at 425 horsepower, backed by a M22 4-speed transmission, and came equipped with heavy duty power brakes, transistor ignition, special springs, shocks, and front and rear sway bars.

This particular Corvette is documented with the original factory Corvette Order Copy, confirming a build date of mid-May 1971, making this the last ZR2 build and the last of all first generation LS6-powered vehicles built. The ZR2 convertible sold for $410,000.
