First-Look: Mo Hall’s New C6 Corvette Outlaw 10.5 Ride

The east coast Outlaw 10.5 scene is a meat grinder of top level competitors that can set a record on any given pass and never give away a race. And one of the top dogs in the world of 10.5 racing is ‘The People’s Champ’, Mo Hall, a racer who has been collecting wins and championships for over a decade. In 2014, Hall became the quickest nitrous car on 10.5W tires, running a 4.07 at 180 mph with an astounding .997 sixty-foot. Recently, Hall put his evil 1994 Camaro up for sale and that left many to wonder what his next move would be, and now, it looks like The People’s Champ will be rocking a slippery C6 in the 10.5W wars.

mo hall 2The 2007 Corvette is currently under construction at HFR Fabrication, where the team of Henry Fryfogle and Todd Geisler are putting the final touches on Hall’s ride to get it ready by April. Providing all of the power will be a Fulton 5.2-inch bore space, 833 cubic inch monster with five stages of giggle juice that will tuned by Jimmy Halsey.

“We’ve run a Fulton engine for the past 10 years and would have nothing else. They’re the best in the business, hands down, at building strong reliable horse power,” says Hall on his choice of powerplants.

Taking the abuse from the Fulton powerplant will be a Todd Tutterow-built Bruno unit with a four-speed Liberty and a ProTorque Converter. “ProTorque has worked with us for years and gives us exactly what we’re looking for each and every time we ask,” says Hall. Automated Racing Technologies will be doing the wiring on the car and adding their state-of-the-art ART System that allows Hall to control everything inside the car via a touch screen.

 

mo hall 3For Hall, racing is a true team effort, combining the talents of a number of individuals to make it all happen. “Steve Berger and Joel Garrison, they are the ‘team’ that does all of the thrashing and hard ‘behind the scenes’ work. Jimmy Halsey and Cathy — Jimmy has done more for me in racing than I could ever thank him for (and Cathy because she lets him). He makes the horsepower that keeps us so competitive. Richard Carey, co-owner of the car — he has been a partner in the race car for as long as we have been doing this. He’s very supportive and very much a fan of what we do. Without him this would not be as easy as we make it seem it is,” says Hall.

Look for The People’s Champ to step back into the ring this spring and bring the pain to anybody in the other lane!
