First “Customer” 2014 C7 Corvette Crash Hits the Web

crashed-stingray [1]Ever since the 2014 Corvette Stingray broke cover at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit earlier this year, there has been a crush of eager buyers lining up for the new Chevy supercar. This has caused a lot of “opportunistic pricing” and a wait list that is reportedly six months long at the very least. We understand that some people might be a little too excited to get behind the wheel of their new ‘Vette.

crashed-stingray-2 [2]That appears to be the case with the poor fellow who found himself the center of ridicule on news website Reddit [3], where this picture of was what could be the first customer-crashed 2014 Corvette surfaced.

The damage, thankfully, doesn’t look like enough to total the car, though it is certainly enough to put it out of commission for a few weeks at least. Details of the accident are pretty much non-existent, and any number of factors could have caused this wreck. Most likely though, too much speed and not enough skill behind the wheel were contributors.

More likely than not this Corvette came with the Z51 performance package, judging from the huge chrome wheels, but alas bigger brakes couldn’t stop this ‘Vette from hitting something hard enough to deploy the airbags. Hopefully this yellow ‘Vette will be back on the roads soon, and we won’t have to write another post like this any time soon.
