Final Year Of C6 Corvette Brings Few Changes

[1]The 2013 model year represents the 60th anniversary of the Corvette (though GM missed a couple of years of production here or there), as well as the final year of production for the C6 model. For 2014 GM promises we will get an all-new Corvette that has been subject to endless and rampant speculation for years now.

For the final year of production, GM has few changes in mind for the C6 Corvette, reports GM Authority [2]. It’s about time… though we are sad to see it go.

For 2013 GM is offering the 60th Anniversary Corvette 427 Convertible, a car we have already covered in detail [3]. The 427 Convertible promises to meld both nostalgia and modernity into one awesome roadster. GM will also make available many of the Corvette models we’ve come to know and love, like the Z06 and 638 horsepower ZR1.

But among the other changes are a new blue color, called Night Race Blue, which will replace Carlisle Blue Metallic. The Competition Gray wheels are being replaced by Black Painted Aluminum wheels. But besides the 60th anniversary Corvette, the C6 will depart without much fanfare, which when you think about it is kind of sad.

Then again, the C7 Corvette should make us forget all about the C6, when it finally debuts.
