If there is one thing that Carlisle Events knows how to do, it’s put together great car shows. They should, they’ve been doing it for years. Keeping that in mind, they want to announce that a change is afoot. It’s a change that is specific to Bow Tie fans.
Each summer, there is one event in central Pennsylvania that brings together everything related to GM. The Carlisle GM Nationals first gathered all things Chevrolet, Cadillac, Pontiac, Buick, and Oldsmobile into one location 15 years ago. Today, we still consider it one of the best events of its type in the region. Where else can thousands of cars and guests come together in central Pennsylvania to hang out? But this year however, Carlisle Events is excited to announce a change to the show.
When the event gets underway on June 23, 2017, it will now be called the Carlisle Chevrolet Nationals. According to Mike Garland of Carlisle Events, “This change of show from the former Carlisle GM Nationals is being done to better reflect today’s automotive trends, and to better honor the history of the brand. It’s also in line with the image and brand that Chevrolet has been cultivating in recent years.”
Just like in years past, the three-day event will host nearly a century of automotive history, and will also embrace the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Camaro. This must-attend event held on the weekend of June 23 through 25 will also feature a wide array of Chevrolet vendors within the swap meet and Midway. Although weekend party will be titled as a Chevrolet weekend, all GM-branded cars and trucks are welcome. For you show guys, the previous classifications from the GM Nationals will carry over and continue, but the grounds will feature even more Chevrolet-branded show field options.
Car clubs will also take center stage in 2017. Garland said, “The clubs who attend all shows at Carlisle, are the backbone of each event. Enthusiasts from far and wide converge on Carlisle to meet with other club members, many times under a free tent as part of the Club Tent Program”
“The all-new Chevrolet Nationals will provide new opportunities to help Carlisle Events build a larger show field and stronger swap meet, as well as attract more prominent manufacturers to our Midway,” said event manager Tyler Staley. “We’re excited to share this new event with all of our enthusiasts from every branch of GM, and we hope it will provide a great new experience for our dedicated attendees.”
Many more details about the all-new Carlisle Chevrolet Nationals will be announced in the coming weeks and months. In the meantime, registration for the show field and vending is open via the web by clicking here. Their website is also a great place to learn more about the club programs, activities, and more. Hopefully we’ll see you there, and tell them Chevy Hardcore sent you.
