The television series, The A-Team, ran from 1983 through 1987 and was likely responsible for starting the trend of men wearing gold chain necklaces. Thanks, Mr. T… The series’ 97 episodes, which ran over five seasons, were based on the story of four Vietnam vets, framed for a crime they didn’t commit, who escape prison and help the innocent while on the run from the military.

One of the characters, ‘Faceman’ (Dirk Benedict) drove a Corvette and thanks to CorvetteBlogger.com, we have learned that particular car has been posted on eBay with a Buy-It-Now price of $40K. According to the seller, the 1984 Corvette comes with full documentation of its provenance and has just 19,165 miles on the odometer. The seller apparently purchased the car from Stephen J. Cannell Productions in 1987.

The car is unmodified and in original condition. Hollywood cars sometimes have a hard life, but this one never even had a backup, so its reasonable to presume that it was probably used lightly. Mr. T never drove the car himself. The series was popular in the 80s, being nominated for three Emmy Awards and winning both People’s Choice and Stuntman Awards.

Currently located in Jefferson, Wisconsin, the eBay listing for this Corvette runs until July 18th. If you already have a mockup of the A-Team van in your garage, here’s your chance to fuel your obsession with the genuine article as a companion piece.
