For sale now on eBay [2] is this Katech [3] FIA GT1-spec C5.R powerplant, complete and ready to run. The spec list is impressive, starting with a genuine C5.R block (an expensive and rare piece in and of itself) stuffed with top-of-the-line forged internals like a Bryant crank, Mahle pistons, and Crower titanium H-beam rods, and topped with that sweet, sweet Katech carbon fiber intake manifold with individual throttle bodies.
[4]Per Katech, this 426 cubic inch engine has 1,500 miles on it since the last rebuild, and a total of 8,554 miles on the combination since birth. Katech claims you’ll be getting 645 horsepower and 635 pound-feet of torque, but that 700 horsepower is just a cam swap away. If that horsepower number doesn’t exactly take your breath away, maybe the price will – as of the time this is being written, with just shy of four days left on the auction clock, bidding has topped $17,000 with 66 bids, and the reserve still not met.
