With Summer fast approaching, those of us who really appreciate the first gen Corvettes are starting to day dream about cruising the open road in a late 50s C1, top down, just soaking in the sun. The Florida coast makes for a magnificent backdrop for any car car, especially a classic convertible like the one we found on eBay this week. Personally, we can’t imagine many instances when we’d want to drive this beauty with her top up.

Currently available for sale on ebay, is a beautiful 1958 Chevrolet Corvette convertible, painted in the timeless Cascade Green with white coves. The car is also sporting a white convertible top while the interior consists of what we would call a combination of olive and cream colored leather.A 350 cubic inch, four-bolt main, crate engine has been installed along with headers and a four-barrel carburetor. The engine produces about 260 hp which is ran through a Turbo 350 transmission.

According to the owner, “The paint on this car is a fresh, high-gloss, high quality job with very few imperfections, I would rate it a 9 out of 10. Most of the exterior chrome has been replaced and is excellent, including the upper grill molding, grill assembly, front emblem and chrome bezel, left and right front bumpers,  headlight bezels, fender spears, turn signals, and front-side grill moldings.”

“The only piece in the front that was not replaced is the center lower grill molding, which I would rate in fair condition, which can hardly be seen. The rear emblem was replaced but the bezel was not and it does have some minor pitting. The rear taillights are in nice shape, and the taillight bezels are nice but not show quality. All stainless trim is in good to excellent condition.”

The ’58 is currently wearing a full set of 17-inch Rocket Racing chrome mag wheels, wearing a set of Hankook tires measuring 225/50/R17. The owner also mentioned that, “We have a set of original wheels and hubcaps in nice shape if the new owner would like those installed instead of the chrome wheels.”

Whether or not you are a fan of the wheels that are currently pictured, we’d recommend that you opt for the original set. Should you want something more aggressive for street driving, you can pick the exact wheel you’d like while maintaining the originals for shows and originality.

Altogether, the car has undergone a complete frame-off restoration and nearly every part of the vehicle has been restored or replaced. The owner rates the car at a 9 out of 10, and definitely has a large number of photographs available to make his case. While a car that lives by the ocean can quickly steer away potential buyers due to rust issues, the car looks to be well kept, and underbody shots show how clean it really is. Altogether, we think it looks like a decent buy.
