Recently, it seems that there is a new announcement from GM almost everyday regarding the launch of something new. February has been an enjoyable month for enthusiasts; one of the major highlights was the unveiling of the ZL1 Camaro at the Chicago Auto Show this week. Again, we have the guys over at CorvetteBlogger to thank for reporting that dealers will now be taking orders for the Z06 Carbon Fiber Edition.
Starting February 21, 2011 you can order one of the limited edition Carbon Fiber Edition cars. Sure, it is going to cost you an arm and leg, but the limited production numbers and performance of the car, easily makes it a collector’s dream right off the lot. Production numbers are at an estimated 500 units, but according the CorvetteBlogger guys, there may be even fewer produced.
A price tag of $90,960 for the base car and $99,925 for a fully optioned version sounds completely outrageous, but you can’t put a price on love. Harlan Charles, Corvette’s Product Marketing Manager, announced that Supersonic Blue and Inferno Orange are the color choices for this unique (aka expensive) vehicle. The Carbon Fiber Edition Z06 seems to offer the Corvette devotee the lightest weight race-ready version to date. It may seem expensive, but you only live once.
