Craigslist Find: ’79 Corvette With a Pontiac Vibe Face

[1]

We don’t even know where to begin with this one. We would rag on it for being a awful ’70s custom, but with a nose that’s clearly from a ’03-08 Pontiac Vibe, that’s obviously not the case. We have no clue why this ’79 Corvette received this treatment, or why anyone in their right mind would do this to a Corvette in the first place. [2]

OK, so it’s a ’79, not exactly the most desirable model year Corvette ever made. Nor is it particularly fast with its 200 HP 350 L48. But it’s still a Corvette, still America’s sports car, and still an otherwise beautiful machine.

We found this car on Craigslist, and although it’s not the worst thing we’ve ever seen, it certainly doesn’t deserve to carry on through life with a rebadged Toyota Matrix’s nose on it. You have to wonder if the man that put this contraption together even knows that?

Probably not, and we think it’s a disgrace that this car has been dealt the hand that it has. We can only assume that the car was wrecked recently, and this hideous front end has been grafted on. The only saving grace about this machine is that it has a clear title and only has 77,000 miles on it.

We would even suggest purchasing the car and rescuing the Corvette from further desecration, but with an upfront cost of $22,350, we think it’s kinda steep. We would offer the seller $8,000, and put it back to normal.

At least it looks normal from behind…
