The FIA World Endurance Championship is being held this month in Austin, Texas at the Circuit of the Americas racetrack, the first purpose-built Formula 1 racing facility in the United States. Every aspect of the 3.4-mile racetrack is state of the art from the track surface to the team, spectator facilities, and safety structures.

Last year at COTA, Corvette Racing competed in the WEC 6 Hour with three cars and finished 7th in class, however they will not field a wildcard entry in the 2015 event because they sold their third Chevrolet Corvette C7.R to the French team Larbre Competition. Their other two chassis are set up for the TUDOR United Sports Car Championship race that takes place the same weekend.

Larbre Competition will use their newly acquired Corvette C7.R in the Six Hours at Circuit Of The Americas, of which they will run in GTE-Am. Although 31 cars are entered, no other American teams are planning to compete in the Austin WEC event, so the French car will be the lone Corvette entry. However, Corvette Racing will still be running in the Lone Star Le Mans for the TUDOR United Sports Car Championship at COTA.

The races take place Thursday the 17th through Saturday, September 19th. According to COTA, the races will be televised on FoxSports, which will broadcast all rounds of the WEC live on its satellite, cable and online platforms (FOX1, FOX2, FOXGO), so check local listings to see the action.
