Competition for the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Title Gets Underway

[1]

Do you think your car has what it takes to be crowned the ultimate street car? If so, the OPTIMA [2] Ultimate Street Car Invitational [3] might be your event. Going into its fourth year, the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational pits street cars and their drivers against one another through five different competitions. The best cars from the qualifying events make an appearance at the annual post-SEMA showdown in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they compete once and for all to see who will take the title of the ultimate street car. Thanks to our friends at CamaroZ28.com [4] for bringing us the news.

At the Ultimate Street Car Invitational qualifying events, street cars participate in autocross races, a road course, braking and acceleration tests, road rally, and a style and design competition. Qualifying events happen all over the country, with five more events taking place before the Invitational occurs this year. The goal of the Invitational is to find unique performance street cars that represent a variety of makes, models and automotive segments.

If you’re interested in participating in a qualifying event, you’ve got plenty of time to make it to one. The next qualifying event will take place May 28th and 29th in Nashville, Tennessee. On June 17th, 18th and 19th, a qualifying event will take place in South Haven, Michigan. The qualifying event in July will take place the weekend of July 15th in Joliet, Illinois. The last two qualifying events take place in September. The first will be the weekend of September 9th in Bowling Green, Kentucky and the last will take place in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee the weekend of September 23rd. Best of luck to all of those who are planning to compete and we look forward to seeing what 50 cars make it to the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational.
