COMP Cams Engine Builder Duel Heading To Goodguys PPG Nationals

engine_builder_duel_2 [1]The summer show season is heating up and so is the competition for engine builders all over the country – not just because they’re competing for your business but because some of the greatest names in the industry are putting their skills to the test at the COMP Cams Engine Builder Duels [2] being held this weekend and next at two of the biggest car events in the Midwest, including the PPG Goodguys [3] Nationals.

You know these guys are fully capable of building killer engines but now it’s time to see them work at a pace only meant for race car pit crews. And to top it all off, two of our very own will be getting in on the action this Friday as Rod Authority Group Editor Mike Alexander and big-gun Jason Snyder compete against some of the industry’s finest! How much more fun can you get at a car event?

engine_builder_duel [4]The COMP Cams [5]Engine Builder Duels started its season off this year with a three-day run at the Hot Rod Power Tour. For the competition, two teams of two (most including the best engine builders in the country) are pinned against each other to assemble and crank a Chevy small block engine in the shortest amount of time.

Equipped with just their know-how and simple tools, each team must muster through the challenge without any outside help. Of course, things can get mighty interesting as the best of the best duke it out for even more bragging rights.

This month, the COMP Cams Engine Builder Duels returns to the show circuit, making its first of two appearances this weekend at the PPG Goodguys Nationals in Columbus, Ohio. It is at Friday’s competition that two of our finest, Mike Alexander and Jason Snyder, compete against a team of professionals to see if they have what it takes to be named winners of the Engine Builder Duels. From Columbus, the competition then moves north to the Car Craft Summer Nationals in St. Paul, Minnesota July 19th through the 21st.

engine_builder_duel_3 [6]In addition to bragging rights, winners of the COMP Cams Engine Builder Duels presented by Snap-On will receive $250 COMP Cams gift certificates while runner-up team members will each walk away with $125 gift certificates.

The competition is set to be hot the next two weekends as the COMP Cams Engine Builder Duels hits the Midwest in addition to all the fun and activities you’ve come to expect from Goodguys events. Be sure to check out the PPG Nationals and the Car Craft Summer Nationals for all kinds of summer-time fun!
