It’s July, and you know what that means – the 2011 Corvette production statistics have been tallied. Since GM finished production of their 2011 model year Corvettes in June, the final numbers have been released and it looks like the Corvette is still running strong. Thanks goes to Keith Cornett of Corvette Blogger for bringing us the official numbers.
While the status of the economy can still be argued, the demand for Corvettes is doing better than ever, with an 11.5 percent increase in sale numbers from the 2010 models. This rise put a total of 13,596 Corvettes in the hands of buyers. Following previous trends, the Grand Sport model made up for the majority of sales of the 2011 model. Not surprisingly, black was the most popular paint color, just like in years past. Thanks to enhancements to the Z06 model, their sales numbers increase, outselling the ZR1 Corvettes by about 100 cars.
