C7 Corvette Gets Transformed

barrivette-1 [1]GM’s choice to back the Transformers movie franchise and to provide most of the cool, slick vehicles for this Hollywood blockbuster has been a big boon for the beleagured automaker. Hundred of millions of people worldwide have been exposed GM’s products, inspiring some people to create their own take on the 21st century version of transformers.

GT Spirit [2] found this unique, Transformers-inspired 2014 Corvette Stingray for sale in Sweden with an asking price more than double the base US MSRP. Considering the long waiting list for this well-optioned ‘Vette though, it might be a price a well-heeled Transformers fan might want to pay.

It’s definitely a unique take on one of the few non-GM vehicles to sneak into the new Transformers franchise, a S197 Mustang GT called “Barricade.” Instead of opting for the Mustang villain though, the Swedish buyer went ahead and gave their barely-driven (230 miles!) 2014 Corvette the Decepticon treatment. Maybe they realized their mistake too late?

Regardless, it’s still a cool-looking Corvette, and one equipped with the desirable Z51 performance package, which some people have to wait more than a year to take delivery. While this black-and-white paint scheme might not be everybody’s cup of tea, it could give you a little extra leeway for some high-speed highway driving… not that we’d recommend that. But it’s an idea, y’know?
