Billet Specialities Unveils New Win Lite Street/Strip Wheel Line

unspecified-1

The folks at Billet Specialities aren’t waiting around for the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas to proudly show off what they’ve been working on this year, as this week they unveiled their all-new Win Lite street/strip wheel — an evolution and progression of their highly popular Street Lite wheel lineup that’s even more lightweight than its predecessor.

unspecifiedBillet Specialities confirms the Win Lite wheel is five percent lighter than the already lightweight Street Lite, due in large part a machine recessed bolt pad on the backside of the wheel center and an optimized design of the spokes. In all, Billet Specialties estimates around a one pound savings on comparably-sized wheels, with a 15 x 10 wheel, for example, tipping the scales at 15.4 pounds, compared to 16.2 pounds for a Street Lite of identical width and circumference.

“We added another operation to the machining process to pull even more weight out of the back of the wheel by recessing the bolt pad. This is something that we’ve taken from our more expensive B-Forged wheel line and applied it to the street/strip wheels to save some weight over a standard wheel,” Sandoval explains. “It’s not easy to get a pound of weight out of a wheel.”

The forged 6061 T-6 wheel centers sport a popular black hard anodized finish, providing a race-styled, contrasted look to set off any vehicle that’s “pretty bulletproof for anything that customers might clean their wheels with,” as Sandoval points out. The centers will be mated to spun aluminum rims.

The Win Lite will be produced in a range of popular sizes, and the lineup will include a 17-inch single beadlock wheel, along with a 17 x 4.5-inch front for later model muscle cars like the Chevrolet Corvette and others. The wheel will accept 5/8-inch race studs or shank-style lug nuts, allowing for one to move from stock axles to aftermarket race axles and keep the same set of wheels. Selected import bolt patterns will be part of the lineup, and variants of 10-inch wheels will be available with Special Drop Centers for additional brake clearance, as well.

Billet Specialities has received an SFI 15.1 certification on the 15-inch diameter wheels and an SAE J-2350 certification on the 17-inch hoops and is headed into production now, with order fulfillment expected around the first of the year.
