Vice President Joe Biden recently spoke to the 2015 graduating class at Yale University students as the guest speaker leading into Commencement Day. He drew from his personal life and stories of his family in an attempt to impart some wisdom on the students. In addition to sporting his signature aviator sunglasses, seen here piloting a yellow C7 Stingray, he made a few quips about the infamous Corvette versus Porsche debate.
Biden sternly expressed, “Now look — I realize no one ever doubts I mean what I say. The problem occasionally is, I say all that I mean. I have a bad reputation for being straight, sometimes at inappropriate times.”
“So here it goes — let’s get a couple things straight right off the bat: Corvettes are better than Porsches. They’re quicker and they corner as well. And sorry guys, a cappella is not better than rock and roll, and your pundits aren’t better than Washington pundits, although I’ve noticed that neither has any shame at all.”
Now most of us are familiar with the ol’ expression, “Opinions are like… bellybuttons, everyones got one.” Thanks to social media, and the ability to comment on all those posts, this seems to be more accurate than ever before. While these two cars have continuously stolen the belt from one another in magazine tests over the years, we do know one thing. The Corvette was awesome before, and the C7 Stingray has brought it to an entirely new level.
