Behind the Scenes: The Story of Race Proven Motorsports
Ever wonder what it’s like behind the scenes at your favorite performance shop? Thanks to today’s video we get to check out just that. In this video, camera man Steve Nawrocki takes us behind the scenes to check out Race Proven Motorsports’ (or RPM for short) new shop. While the video may portray the life of shop owner, Fran Schatz, as a lot of fun and games, it wasn’t always that way.
As you can probably imagine a shop like this doesn’t spring up over night. It all started in a 1500 square foot Claymont, Delaware garage where Fran worked day and night on his own for over three years until he was able to hire his first employee. From there, after growing a bit of course, they deemed it necessary to move again to a bigger nearby shop.
They remained in their new location for several more years until 2012. Now, in 2013 RPM is finally getting settled in at their new home a couple of miles down the road, this time in New Castle. The new shop alone, without office space, totals about 18,000 square feet. We’d say that’s a little bit bigger than the original location. They have been the shop of
choice for customers like Rick Hendrick and Minnesota Twins pitcher Vance Worley. The owner’s personal Corvette has even been seen in the 8-second range a few times as the first C6 to ever reach 8s. If you take a close look at it, this is the ultimate American success story for any motor head. With all of this growth, it will be interesting to see what they come up with next.
