Behind the Scenes: Flaming River Factory Tour

Today, Flaming River [1] offers us a unique glimpse into the behind-the-scenes of their awesome products.

Ron Domin, vice president of Flaming River, leads us into the guts of the all-American company from Berea, Ohio. Flaming River has come a long way since its beginning in 1987, but the dedication to producing top-of-the-line steering parts for muscle cars, street rods, and classics has never wavered. In addition, adaptation to new technology is a hallmark of Flaming River’s philosophy, and no better place exists to showcase that principle than its very own factory.

flaming [2]Quality craftsmanship pervades the place, in equal measure with the cutting-edge technology. High-class CNC machines along with hands-on machining, testing, and assembly mean that you’re getting the highest quality, service, and durability. Skilled machinists ensure the parts are made to precise specifications. The latest tech and state-of-the-art equipment combine with AAA-grade materials to bring you the best money can buy.

New laser technology gave Flaming River the ability to produce the trailblazing laser-cut steel tilt column, which was collapsible in the event of an impact thanks to the bellowed holes cut into the middle. These holes, shaped into diamonds, are the signature style of Flaming River. Product testing is done individually and all are assembled on-site, with skilled technicians there to qualify each and every part for durability, down to the smallest detail. Every power rack-and-pinion system is pressure and fluid-tested, then certified before finally being packaged and sent off to the vendors and customers.

The folks at Flaming River want you to remember: if it doesn’t say Flaming River, it just isn’t good enough!
