He creates a mid-engined super ‘Vette that even Zora Arkus-Dontov never would have imagined. [2]Despite its nose-heavy front-mounted engine platform, the ’63 coupe was more than capable to stave off approaching mid-engine contenders. Of course, this creation is seemingly nothing close to what Corvette entered into LeMans, rather, this reshaped, resculpted C2 ‘Vette is running a cornea-shattering twin-turbo LS V8 plant sitting right behind the seats.
Dyno tested just to prove its madness, the twin-blown plant produces 1,000 horsepower and 915 lbs.-ft. of torque. Oh but there’s more, this ‘Vette rockets from 0-to-60mph in just under three seconds. But adding to bizarreness of this ‘Vette is the unusual pneumatically-operated scissor mechanism that opens the doors outward. Why? Because we can.
