American Street Car Series (ASCS) – Run To The Alamo

It’s almost that time again when you dust off your hot rod an head out to automotive events for yet another season of gatherings, competitions and fun.

[3]While some of us will be battling snow for a few more months in our home states, the new American Street Car Series (ASCA) [4] is gearing up for their first event of the season in mid February. So why not head down to San Marcos, Texas where it’s warm and join the ASCS for the Run to the Alamo?

As we told you back in December [5], the ASCS is a new automotive series for 2012 that aims at putting together family-friendly pro-touring events. While it’s a new series, founders Bill Howell, Brian Finch, and Yancy Johns are not new to automotive event planning.

This is the same crew behind beloved events like Run Through the Hills in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; Run to the Coast in Irvine, California; and Run to Music City in Nashville, Tennessee. With sponsors like Forgeline [6], Royal Purple [7], Holley [8] and RideTech [9], this series promises to provide top-notch events.

Brian Finch (left) and Yancy Johns (right) aren't just the even organizers, they can wheel too!

For their first event of 2012, the ASCS will be heading to the Harris Hill Road Raceway in San Marcos, Texas where pro-touring enthusiasts can enjoy a weekend of cruising, car shows, racing and much more. Set to run from Friday February 17th through Sunday the 19th, the Run to the Alamo event will also feature unique opportunities to tour Dick’s Classic Garage and Car Museum as well as have dinner at Vintage Air.

With plenty of interest for a Run event in a more central location, the Run to the Alamo should be a great kick off event to the newly formed American Street Car Series as well as the 2012 season. Registration is open for this and the other events put on by the ASCS so make sure to sign up and get ready for some good ‘ole pro-touring fun in 2012!
