A Corvette Stingray-Based Batmobile for Ben Affleck?

General Motors has always been big into promoting their cars and trucks on the big screen, and Chevy products in particular have played a prominent role in the Transformers movie series, among other blockbuster film hits. One of the hottest film franchises of the past decade has been DC Comics’ Batman, and with the caped crusader getting a reboot and a new star in Ben Affleck, it’s about time the Batmobile gets a remake too.

Though the original Batmobile was based on a Lincoln concept, the new one could use a GM design. [3]

Though the original Batmobile was based on a Lincoln concept, the new one could use a GM design.

Carscoop’s Josh Byrnes [2] put together this rendering, combining the look of the Corvette Stingray Concept with some futurist Gotham flavor. The result is a badass Batmobile that brings the Dark Knight’s daily driver back down to Earth from the military-inspired Tumbler of the past three movies.

Citing the original Lincoln Futura Concept as inspiration, Byrnes gave the front end an entirely new grille in the same style as Batman’s logo, rimmed by red to sharpen the contrast. It gives the new Batmobile a predatory look, and keeps the tradition of basing the Batmobile on a concept car. The long hood is made even more aggressive thanks to long, sweeping lines and low-mounted hood scoops that look ready to suck up the road.

It’s a decidedly different take on the Batmobile compared to past movies, and perhaps better suits “pretty boy” Ben Affleck. GM is said to be providing several vehicles for the new Batman flick, including an older Cadillac, and the Corvette makes perfect sense for a hero like Batman. The only other option would be the redesigned Camaro, the Chevy SS, or an as-yet-unreleased concept vehicle. Batman and the Corvette, together at last, again.
