It’s a statement that can be made about a lot of different people, but when it comes to criminals; let’s just say that the stupidity gene-pool is overflowing. In this video from a home surveillance camera in Pittsburg, California, we can plainly see that two suspects trip over their own idiocracy on one afternoon while trying to steal a Corvette.
But, as you can see, they ended up crashing into a mailbox and sign pole in the California neighborhood of State Superintendent of Schools Tom Torlakson who just happens to have a home surveillance system.
In a complete bonehead move, the getaway was foiled when the driver forgot to acknowledge the fact that he did not know how to drive a car with a stick shift—remember what we said about the gene pool?! Lucky for us, Torlakson’s wife, Mae, captured the incident on their surveillance video. After the “Ah-ha moment” of realizing that they were unable to drive a Corvette with a stick shift, the suspects then jumped out of the car and attempted to run away before they were arrested.
Apparently, they couldn’t even do that correctly. Luckily, the Police were already “just around the corner”, and when neighbors who witnessed the crash called police they were quick to the scene.
Mae Torlakson said police told her that officers believe the suspects took BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) to the location, and are linked to other home burglaries in the area. So, apparently they use public transportation because they’re not intelligent enough to drive any kind of vehicle, automatic or manual?
